Aviation Fuel System plats a vital role in the aviation industry. WEC has secured an upper hand in this as it specializes in the engineering design, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning and project management of aviation fuel system including but not limited to the fuel hydrant system, emergency shut off system, pumping, reticulation system and oil storage terminals. Through the years, WEC has acquired the design capability incorporating ease of constructability for prompt delivery of project and low maintenance cost considerations, delivering these aviation fuel projects compliant to IATA and ICAO requirements.
The Oil Transmission Systems, which our services cover, are supplied to commercial airports and military airbases and form a critical component of their aviation fuel facilities. These systems (which include fuel farms, receiving and dispensing facilities and aviation fuel hydrant pipelines) receive fuel from oil tankers located on sea or land, store such fuel in tank farms and transport fuel to aircraft via jet fuel hydrant pipelines.
We are also specialised in aviation fuel system consultancy, where we have been actively involved since 1978, starting with the Aviation Fuel Facilities for Terminal 1 at Changi International Airport, Singapore. We continued to support the same client through the development of Terminals 2, 3, and 4, maintaining a consistent and trusted partnership to this day.
We have successfully delivered aviation fuel facility projects across the region, including:
-
- Chek Lap Kok Airport (Hong Kong, Terminal 2)
- Brunei International Airport
- Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Indonesia)
- Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
- Kuala Lumpur and regional airports in Malaysia
- Yangon International Airport (Myanmar)
- Various international airports across India
We are currently executing turnkey aviation fuel system projects in Sri Lanka.
Our experience across diverse airport environments equips us to expertly handle phased implementation and integration of new systems with existing facilities, without disrupting airport operations — a critical requirement in live aviation environments.
- Full range of implementation:
-
- Feasibility Study, FEED, Consultation
- EPC
- Testing & Commissioning
- Operation & Maintenance
- Turnkey incl. Fuel Storage, Pipeline, Pumping, Filtering, SCADA, Firefighting Sys, ESD, LDS etc
- International standards (incl. IATA, JIG standards)
Notable Milestone:
We recently completed the flushing procedure for Phase 1 of the T2C Diversion Project at Changi Airport on 27 September 2023, meeting stringent JIG requirements. This critical activity validated the readiness and integrity of the newly installed fuel hydrant pipelines. This achievement marked a historic first for Changi Airport — flushing aviation fuel pipelines using 8 ISO tankers to fulfill required flow rates and volumes under strict safety controls.
